In 73 BC, a Thracian warrior fights alongside the Romans but is betrayed by the commander Gaius Claudius Glaber. His village is destroyed, and he and his wife, Sura, are captured. Condemned to die as a gladiator, the Thracian manages to kill the four men meant to execute him.
