Setting up a remote USB session requires coordination between the technician (Server) and the client (Customer Module). Step 1: Prepare the Technician Server
A: No. The module requires a kernel driver, which must be installed via an installer. Portable USB redirection is technically infeasible on Windows.
It is designed for the end-user (the "customer") who needs to temporarily share a physical USB device with a remote expert. Common Use Cases
The USB Redirector Customer Module 1.9.7 is a specialized component of the USB Redirector Technician Edition. While the Technician Edition is installed on the technician's PC (the service provider), the Customer Module is distributed to the end-user. It allows a customer to redirect a USB device—such as a smartphone, printer, 3G modem, or embedded device—so that it appears to be physically plugged into the technician’s computer halfway across the world.
User interface & usability
Once the connection is established, the module will ask the customer to that requires servicing. The software will highlight the current step (e.g., "Step 2 of 4"). The technician now sees the device on their end, connects to it (clicks the green checkmark icon), and begins servicing.
The customer double-clicks the file to launch the module. Since it is portable, it runs immediately. The software initializes and displays a welcome screen. The customer waits for the initialization to complete and clicks "Next".
USB Redirector comes in two main parts:
Initiates the connection from the customer side, which easily bypasses strict local firewalls and NAT routers.
