Company Of Heroes 2 Lan: Upd
One of the most significant changes came when the game was updated to the Master Collection . This patch did two major things: it made all previously released DLC available to every user, and it converted the game from a 32‑bit executable to a 64‑bit one. For LAN players, the 64‑bit version offers better memory handling and more stable performance – especially helpful when hosting a game with four or more players.
Configure the match settings (map, resources, win conditions, and weather options).
Many players recommend using the Legacy 32-bit build (available in Steam Beta properties) or reverting to Company of Heroes 1 for more stable LAN features.
Even though you are physically close, the game data will likely route through Relic Battle Servers to maintain synchronization . 🛠️ Troubleshooting Local Connectivity company of heroes 2 lan upd
Company of Heroes 2 does not support true offline LAN. It requires a Steam login and a working internet connection to authenticate. The "LAN" mode is actually a "Steam Datagram Relay" (SDR) pretending to be LAN.
Coh2 doesn't have any LAN features. The next best choice is playing the legacy version of coh1, which from my understanding is the... Reddit·r/CompanyOfHeroes Company of Heroes 2 LAN Party : r/CompanyOfHeroes - Reddit
Emulated setups allow you to host full 4v4 multiplayer matches in remote areas or offline environments. One of the most significant changes came when
If you’re struggling to connect, the problem is likely on your end. Here are the most common fixes to get you on the battlefield:
Even though you are on a LAN, CoH2 tries to use Steam’s ports. You must ensure no firewall is blocking internal UDP traffic.
Back up your original steam_api.dll (and steam_api64.dll if present). Replace them with the emulator's corresponding DLL files. Step 2: Configure the LAN IP Bindings If you’re struggling to connect
If you face connectivity or join errors while sitting in the same room, you likely need to configure your router's firewall. Ensure that standard Steam ports and CoH2 game data pass freely by forwarding the required UDP/TCP traffic through your router's gateway administration page.
CoH2 hates multiple active network adapters (WiFi + Ethernet).
Drop them in the comments below. And if this guide helped you get a game going, share it with your next LAN party crew.
Easier just to use All In One Migration plugin both ends. Create a migration package at the local site using the plugin (takes about 45 seconds), and then import the package via the same plugin installed on the newly installed WordPress on the live server (takes about 90 seconds). It’s so easy, anything else (including the Serverpress plugin described here) requires additional steps/complication.

You’re welcome, everyone.

Thanks Lisa-Robyn, I have installed it but having some tech issues that can’t seem to resolve with their knowledgebase and on the free version there is no obvious support. Am waiting in anticipation of your subsequent articles, when might they be? Thanks so much in advance. Natalie
Hi Lisa, thanks for the article, really useful. Do you know if the upgrade to a premium account is a simple process of adding a license key once purchased? Or do you need to download and install a completely different version of DesktopServer? I can’t see an answer to that question on the ServerPress site.
Awesome Lisa. Having stumbled across DesktopServer through Tim Strifler, I feel like I have been given the keys to the WP equivalent of a Ferrari. So sad that I’ve spent 3 years of my life waiting for the WP backend to load over slow wifi connections all over the globe. Speed is king.
Excelent?? It works with Ubuntu?
not sure about that one, you may want to contact Ubuntu or Serverpress directly regarding this.
A BIG THANK YOU! I have been trying to figure out how I can escape from the maddening crowd in the spring, summer and Autumn yet still keep clients happy with delivery schedules. You are a dream come true as you have showed me the way 🙂
Thanks Alan! Hope all goes well with the new work flow 🙂
Fab article. Thanks so much. I have been wondering about this for a while. I am definitely going to try it out. Keep up the good work 😉
