The first version of Ford IDS, version 1.0, was released in 2002. This initial version was designed to provide technicians with a comprehensive diagnostic tool for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. Ford IDS is dead. Long live FDRS. But for millions of F-150s, Mustangs, Explorers, and Super Dutys still hauling and driving daily, the right version of IDS remains the only key to the castle.
