Humberto Lima Soriano is a prominent name in the Brazilian civil engineering landscape. He graduated in Civil Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1969) and earned his Master's (1971) and Doctorate (1979) from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He has completed post-doctoral internships at the LNEC in Lisbon and the University of Southampton. With more than 40 years of teaching activity, he is a retired full professor from the UFRJ and COPPE/UFRJ and currently teaches at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
