To understand the discography, one must first understand the origins. Grupo Niche was founded in not in Cali, but in Bogotá, Colombia, by the visionary Jairo Varela and trombonist Alexis Lozano. The name "Niche" was chosen for its simplicity, but the band's sound was anything but. In 1983, the group made a pivotal decision that would define their career: they moved to Cali , the salsa capital of the world, where their music found a permanent home and grew to new heights.
